Sign Sharks

Those who go around and destroy or remove illegal signs are often called "sharks", due to the "bite" some of them take out of signs when they only cut off the last 4 digits of the phone number, thereby rendering the sign useless. Others chop off the two ends (maybe it helps to relieve frustration), while some paint things over the sign. The most interesting approach is to change the message so that it says something obscene or nasty which, until the person who put it there removes it, reflects negatively on their brand.
